Battlefields Day 4

September 21, 2014

Our final visit to Ypres and the long awaited chocolate shop! As we left the picturesque square and headed for Hill 62 and Sanctuary Wood the sun began to break through. The previous night”s rain meant that we could experience the trenches and tunnels as they may have been a hundred years ago. The bizarre museum displayed a variety of relics, as well as some horrific photographs.

Thanks to all the adults who came on the trip, but especially to Mrs Norris for organising it, and for inspiring us with her insights into the First World War.
