Jersey Sports Tour – Day 1

March 11, 2015

It has been a long but thoroughly enjoyable first day on tour. The pupils have been impeccably behaved. After the short flight we visited the Jersey war tunnels built whilst under Nazi occupation during the second World War. Mrs Clark gave a wonderful lesson on the difficult decision faced by the islanders and the hardships faced by those how did not flee to the mainland.

After a fantastic lunch at the Crab Shack and a run around on the beach it was off to the football competition. Both the teams did really well in the short matches, the B team eventually losing on penalties in the semi final. The highlight came from a thunderbolt from Theo G. The A team played well but did not find the net often enough finishing third in their group.

Now off to dinner and an early night ready for the hockey tournament tomorrow.
