French Exchange – Day 1

June 23, 2015

The journey yesterday went without a hitch, and on arrival we were soon seeing the pupils off with their respective families. We bumped into a big group of them all last night on Cholet’s main square last night, enjoying the “fête de la musique” along with the whole of the rest of the population, it seemed! Today we were shown around the Collège Trémolières, always an interesting experience for both Ballard and Highcliffe students, before enjoying a delicious meal in the school restaurant. Then it was time for the “course d’orientation”, where teams of exchange partners worked together to find clues distributed around the town’s municipal park, then completed challenges in French (for the English pupils) and English (for the French ones) in order to find the treasure – a big bag of Carambars! Good fun, and hot work on a pretty warm afternoon! Tomorrow will be even warmer… and it’s Trémosports Day!

Will send more tomorrow… Au revoir! Alex
