Musical Interlude #2 – 24th November 2015 – Ballard School

November 24, 2015

This week’s “Musical Interlude” includes peripatetic music lessons, an exam update and how we are using all the opportunities we can to showcase our musical contributions to Ballard School life.

Last week included…

  • Rehearsals for our senior musical “Back to the 80s”
  • ABRSM exams – we had 14 pupils take their exams this Monday
  • We are an exam centre so we welcomed some pupils from local primary schools for their exam preparation
  • Musical performances in Headmaster’s assembly – a regular feature of our jam-packed calendar

Peripatetic music lesson observations

Parents have been visiting the department over the last few weeks to watch their children in instrumental and vocal lessons. These observations provide a fantastic opportunity to see what goes on in a peripatetic lesson and a chance to ask any questions and have a face to face conversation with the teacher. Not to mention finding out what pupils are supposed to be practicing at home!

It’s not too late – if you have not been in to the department yet but would like to come and see a lesson, please contact Mrs Gray as soon as possible.
