Artistic Impression #8

Year 8 Criminal Cats

In ‘Artistic Impression #3’we featured one of our articles on our Year 8s and their ‘Criminal Cats’. Their work was inspired by a local artist – Emily Stracey. One of her specialisms is the idea of a ‘Criminal Cat’ mug shot and information on their alleged ‘crimes’.

As part of the Year 8 research into Emily as an artist – they have produced work books on some of the pieces of Emily’s art. Here we have a few of these on show.

Here is a quote from the work above:

I love Emily Stracey’s work. Her work is very humourous and I find it quite inspiring. I really like how she puts little pun captions on each picture…I think Emily Stracey’s work is brilliant!

and here is another quote, summarising why this pupil liked Emily’s work

I think that Emily Strace is an extremely talented artist with a good taste for animals and a good sense of humour

We are planning to write to Emily, and let us know of the work our Year 8s have completed on their ‘Criminal Cats’ and hope we get a reply!
