BallardNormandie – Blog two

Missed our first BallardNormandie blog for 2017? See blog one here!

The plan for our Ballard Year 6 Trip to Normandy, France today is as follows:

AM: Visit to the market in Villedieu Les Poêles

PM: Visit to a goat’s cheese farm

Eve: French evening and quiz (fancy dress needed)

First breakfast: croissant, confiture, chocolat chaud, jus d’orange, yaourt, et fruits aussi! The boys are on clearing up duties whilst all girls’ dorms came even in this morning’s room inspection

Ballard Normandie breakfast

First breakfast in Normandie!

First off for the day – a visit to a local market where we had a chance to test our French, sample the local produce, buy lunch and of course a bit of free time for shopping!

Ballard Normandie Market

We took a sunny morning stroll around a local market in Normandie

We stopped to eat lunch – baguettes were most definitely on the menu!

This afternoon

We have been tweeting about our time in Normandie throughout the day – here’s one from our time this afternoon!

After a delicious picnic in a cherry orchard, it was time to meet the goats and to learn all about husbandry and cheese making!IMG-20170704-WA0036

This evening will be a chance to take part in some activities in the gîte (photos to follow as they come in)

Tomorrow in Normandie

and so… for tomorrow’s plan:

AM: Discover of the town of Avranches

PM: Walk around the Bay of Mont St Michel (see our video from this last year on Facebook)

We tweet from @BallardSchool
