Hiking and making silly faces!

Years 3 and 4 pupils enjoyed the great outdoors with a day of hiking, reptile hunting, and geocaching. Our outing began with a trip to Ornamental Drive where pupils walked the tall tree route. Many found walking sticks and some also witnessed their first sighting of a small grass snake.

Our next location was a stones throw away at the New Forest Reptile Centre. There we spied an adult adder and two infant adders. We were treated to expert information about birds in the New Forest as well as trying on dear antlers and looking at other New Forest based artefacts.

Geocaching

Preparing our geo-caching presents

In the afternoon we enjoyed the delights of Burley and their exquisite ice creams. Our final stop was in the Holmsley Inclosure where we found two geocaching boxes and left our gifts for the next geocacher. It was a hot and humid day but all had a very enjoyable time.
